Roy Eugene Davison was born June 4, 1945, to George C. Davison and Florence Ophelia McGee Davison in Houston, Texas. He spent his early childhood between the Heights/5th Ward and Midway, Texas, where he enjoyed spending time with his grandfather George C. Davison, Sr. He found great pleasure in caring for the family land alongside his father, grandfather and uncles and later his cousins as long as his health allowed. He completed his formal education in Houston Independent School District and graduated from Evan E. Worthing Senior High School Class of 1962. His commitment to lifelong learning is seen in the many distinctions and certifications gained during his career in Plant Operations for the same school district. This career culminated in his 2001 retirement to his next job as fulltime Pawpaw.

Roy accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age. He exercised his faith the his commitment to God, church and community. He joined New Hope Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend M.V. Fletcher where he was active in the brotherhood and served as a trustee. He later became a member of Southeast Community Church under the leadership of Pastor Thurman H. West where he served as a member of the usher board, as a Yokefellow and in any other capacity as needed.

The memorial service for Mr. Davison will be held at Southeast Community Church, Saturday, July 26, 2025 at 11:00am.
