Ray Anthony
Francis, Jr.
Sep 28, 1981 — Jul 9, 2026
Houston
Daddyo had a special gift for spreading joy and laughter.
On September 28, 1981, in Houston, Texas, an icon was born to Ray Francis Sr. and Phyllis Garrick. They lovingly named him Ray Francis Jr., affectionately known to family and friends as “Daddyo.” From an early age, Ray accepted Christ into his life and remained steadfast in his faith, always giving praise to the Lord regardless of the challenges and trials he faced.
Daddyo was known for his infectious smile, impeccable sense of style, unforgettable dance moves, and his ability to light up any room he entered. He was truly the life of every gathering. Whether among family, friends, or strangers, Daddyo had a special gift for spreading joy and laughter. His warm personality and charismatic spirit left a lasting impression on everyone, fortunate enough to know him.
A true “smooth operator,” Daddyo cherished his role as a father and family man. He shared three children: Anfrenee, Kiera, and Marcus with Tasha Ellison. In September 2014, he married Juanita Thomas, and together they shared their son, Keiyandre. Daddyo took immense pride in spending time with his children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. His love for family was evident in every moment he shared with them, creating memories that will be treasured forever.
On July 9, 2026, Daddyo answered God’s call and entered his eternal resting place. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Paul and Elfie Vallier, Robert Garrick, Clemmons and Eloise West; his beloved sister, Tiffany Francis; and his bonus father, Michael Slaughter.
His warm personality and charismatic spirit left a lasting impression on everyone.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife Juanita Thomas. His loving parents, Ray Francis (Lorena) and Phyllis Garrick (David); his children, Anfrenee, Kiera, Marcus, and Keiyandre; and his siblings, Leslie Mike (Terrance Sr.), Antonio Beard, Zahra Francis, Isiah Francis, Rachelle Terry, Andrew Beard, Latoya Dismuke (Mario), and Zackry. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, god child Reginae, cousins, and dear friends, as well as his girlfriend, Charmaine, whom he loved dearly.
Though our hearts are heavy with sorrow, we find comfort in knowing that Daddyo’s legacy of love, laughter, faith, and joy will live through all who knew him. His smile, his spirit, and the countless memories he created will forever remain in our hearts.
