Obituary

Jessie Marie Jacobs was born on November 26, 1941, in Church Point, LA,one of two siblings to the late Homer Jacobs and Sylvia Belle Jacobs. She is now reunited with them and with her sister, Patricia Jacobs Brown.

Jessie or Bobbie, as she was referred to by her family and friends, lived a beautiful life. As a child, she joined and actively attended Saint Theresa
Catholic Church located in Orange, TX. She then graduated from Emma H. Wallace High School, which was the first all-black high school in Orange, TX.

Bobbie became a proud graduate of Prairie View University, where she was a majorette, received her nursing degree, and graduated summa cumlade. She also served in the United States Air Force as a First Lieutenant from July 30,1966, until July 29, 1968. From there, she relocated to Houston, where she spent the remainder of her life. She truly loved Houston. Bobbie continued to excel as an entrepreneur by becoming a Realtor & Tax Consultant. She also found her spiritual home at St. Philip Neri Church, where she enjoyed teaching Sunday School.

Bobbie left us quietly and peacefully for her eternal home on Saturday, January 3, 2026. Loving memories of Bobbie will remain with her aunt Elizabeth Pollard; niece and God Daughter, Lisa Brown Gilmore (Paul); cousins, Henry Avious Adams (preceded in death), Leslie Adams, Media Adams Rashid (Kush), Damian Aaron, Patricia Adams, Carlton Adams and a host of family and friends to include great cousins Briannica Deason (Albert), Brenden, Bailey, and Brooklyn; Brandon Deason; great nephew Anton Render (Javai); and great niece and God Daughter, Blair Gilmore.

Bobbie's legacy of love and joy for her family and friends lives on. She would not want us to dwell in sorrow over this profound loss; instead, she would encourage us to celebrate her life by embracing each day and treasuring the moments we shared with her. As we remember Bobbie, let us honor her by living with compassion, love, and kindness, just as she always did.
