The firstborn daughter of L. E. & Addie Lou Harris, Dorothy was born on June 18, 1944 in Timpson, Texas.

Her family moved to Houston in the 1960. She graduated from E. E. Worthing High School in 1962. Shortly after graduation she married her high school sweetheart and welcomed two awesome sons.

After many years of service with the United States Government Dorothy retired in 2002.

Dorothy was an avid reader and traveled along with her best friend Emily Humphey. She was also known for her love of reading, extensive coffee mug collection and her recordkeeping abilities.

Her memory will forever be cherished by her sons Byron (Glenda) and Gregory, siblings Frank (Shirley), Henry, Hattie (James) Dale, seven grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and a host of other remarkable family and friends who will carry her memory forward in love.
