Darren Keith Andrews Sr., born on June 7, 1969, in Galveston, Texas, passed away tragically, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and devotion. He was the beloved son of the late Fred Douglas Andrews Sr. and Donna Jean Andrews.

Darren spent his early years in Beaumont, Texas before relocating to Houston, where he was raised in the historic 5th Ward community. He attended Phillis Wheatley Senior High School and was known throughout his life as a loving son, father, brother, uncle, grandfather, and a steadfast protector of those he held dear.

Professionally, Darren found purpose and community at Piping Technology & Products Inc., where he worked as a Safety Technician. His colleagues welcomed him as family, and he brought dedication and heart to his role each day.

Darren was preceded in death by his father Fred Douglas Andrews Sr., his brother Johnny Johnson, and his grandparents Mabry & Gertrude Landor.

Darren's memory will be cherished by his mother, Donna Jean Andrews, and his devoted significant other, Creola Banks. He is also survived by his siblings: Kescer Andrews, Kevin Andrews (Kimberly), Marcus Andrews (Rosilynn), Chalisa Johnson, Fred Andrews Jr., Monique Andrews, Crishell Andrews, and Patesia Andrews

He leaves behind a proud legacy through his children: Damien, Darren Jr., Dominique, Ashanti, Darren III, Cody, Jayden, DaKamren, KaDarren, Janeane, and Uzziah — as well as a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will miss him deeply.

Darren's life was one filled with love, laughter, and unwavering loyalty to his family. His presence, his voice, and his protective spirit will be profoundly missed but never forgotten.

The memorial service for Mr. Andrews will be held Saturday, July 26, 2025 at 11:00am in the Grimes Funeral Home Chapel.
